Many of our customers “of a certain age” are down-sizing from beautiful large homes to smaller and different housing. They are concerned about their existing furniture.
Their children don’t necessarily want it and the consignment shops are full.
We recommend using it; but, restyle it!
Some Restyle Ideas
It is probably better quality than anything you would buy today.
(1) Paint or Lacquer your Chippendale-style chairs a creamy white and reupholster the seats with an updated fabric.
(2) Change out the pulls and handles on your dresser and nightstands with something bright and sharp.
(3) Ditch the “matching ” mirror and replace with silver or gold.
(4) Reupholster that good sofa with a new updated fabric that looks and feel good.
Additional Tips:
– Fine rugs are timeless as is. Consider pulling out the lighter colors for the accents in the new space.
– Many lamps just need a new, simple parchment shade to bring them back to life….an easy fix!
– Pillows, pillows and pillows…give a new look to furniture you already own and love.
– Reuse, recycle, and reupholster…that’s the way to feel and look young again.
