When you’re eight, you might not have been wandering around a 90,000 sq. foot furniture store. But, that’s exactly what this little girl did when she was young. The lessons she learned about furniture have stuck with her to this day.
Here’s her story:
This is more a story, back in 1966 I was 8, home was not a good place, family spent too much time at the Town Tavern around the corner from the Washington Street store. I would escape from the bar and go to your store to look at the beautiful furniture, an older man, tall, pleasant voice would greet me, we would walk the store, he would let me dust with a feather duster as he explained the wood and fabrics used on the furniture, how cushions were made, and the staining of pieces. He will never know what a God send he was to an eight-year-old little girl, or the education that stuck with me till this day. I just wanted to say thank you. Much continued success.
